We load the buses early, and head for Austria.
Last Roadside Rest in Hungary...

 

 

We stopped for several hours in Eisenstadt, and toured the Palace of Prince Esterházy, Haydn's patron.
The tour begins.
The Baryton is an obsolete string instrument with 7 bowed strings and 11 that vibrate simpathetically. Haydn wrote many pieces for Baryton, the instrument which his patron played well.

At Haydn's house, we were greeted with a piece of bread and spiced salt for luck.
