    PYO is Offering Four Summer Camps:

    1. Prelude String Camp (beginner) 🎻 : July 20–24 | 9:00am–12:00pm

    2. Intermezzo String Camp (intermediate) 🎻 : July 20–24 | 1:00pm–5:00pm

    3. Sunrise Symphony (beginner) 🥁 : July 27–31 | 9:00am–12:00pm

    4. Summer Symphony (intermediate/advanced) 🎺 : July 27–31 | 1:00pm–5:00pm

    LOCATION WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN EARLY SPRING

  • Please Note:

    • Summer Camp mentors must be a registered musician for the 2026-2027 season

    • Current or incoming PYA/PYO members will be considered for the Prelude String Camp, Intermezzo String Camp, and the Sunrise Symphony

    • Only PYO members will be considered for the Summer Symphony

    • New 2026-27 applicants may apply pending a video audition due by April 7th

    • New 2026-27 applicants can access the audition 2026-27 application in the Google Form linked below

    • We are accepting string mentors for all four camps

    • We are accepting winds/brass/percussion mentors during the full orchestra camps

    👉 Attendance is required at the whole camp session, M-F, 9am-12pm or 1-5pm. Please let us know if you have any conflicts.

  • As a mentor, you will help younger musicians learn all about orchestra! Mentor roles and responsibilities include:

    • Playing in the ensembles with the young musicians and modeling good rehearsal behavior (using pencil, asking questions, etc.)

    • Leading sectionals and small group work

    • Helping one-on-one as needed (note reading, fingerings, bowings, technique, rhythm)

    • Coordinating music theory or listening activities with other mentors

    • Developing ice-breaker and bonding activities

    • Performing with the ensembles at end-of-camp performances on Friday

    • Helping facilitate happy campers and good community during breaks

    • Having fun with the younger musicians and other mentors!
